With six acres of land adjacent to the Interstate 45 corridor between Willis and the Walker County line, Ronnie Ellerbe is considering a couple of business ventures at his location. "I'm thinking about opening up a bait shop and an RV park," he said. However, like a number of property owners along that section of highway, Ellerbe had concerns about gaining access to I-45 from his land.

The foggy pitch at Dover High has become a familiar launching pad for Middletown soccer success the past couple postseasons. The lads 2008 tournament drive to the state title match included a 25-mile trip south to the turf that's often shrouded in fog as the night progresses. This year began with more of the same, with Davey Huegel and Jack Gerlitz providing game-winning goals at Dover to thrust the Cavaliers into the Delaware High School Boys Soccer Tournament semifinals once again.  

Seven Ripley High soccer players were honored to the All-MSAC boy's and girls soccer teams following the 2009 season.  

Middletown High senior David Huegel was voted Blue Hen Conference Flight A soccer player of the year by coaches.
